You may already be familiar with College Radio Day and World College Radio Day, both brought to you by the fine folks at the College Radio Foundation. These events have done wonders for college radio stations across the U.S. and the world, raising awareness and money at a time when both are sorely needed.
Their latest event is Vinylthon, a 24-hour promotion taking place on Saturday, April 23, 2022, where participating stations are encouraged to play music off of vinyl records. College radio is essentially the only broadcast medium that still plays vinyl on a regular basis, and this event is a great way to highlight that connection. It is also a great chance for listeners to discover new music they didn’t know was available on vinyl, and to hear old favorites that they haven’t heard in years.
Most importantly, it is a great way to support college radio and the next generation of broadcasters. So click over to their website, buy a T-shirt or donate directly to the cause.
